ONE NIGHT RESIDENTIAL
Upon arrival at our battlefield barracks, your children will become fully immersed in the forest; sleeping under the stars, and cooking over open fires. Away from screens and technology, our activities encourage team building and give students the chance to develop new skills and interact with their peers in a fun, creative environment. Whether the children are climbing through tunnels, tackling our assault course or any of the challenges they will face, they will do so with their friends and teachers and be led by experienced former or serving unformed service staff.
The new recruits will enjoy a tea time barbecue around the camp fire before toasting marshmallows and reading late night ghost stories.
The barracks are in a secure, supervised part of the forest with separate boys and girls areas. We have a separate barracks for the staff sited right next to the children’s camp. The site is CCTV monitored and lit. We have cot beds for everyone and provide military grade sleeping bags for those that want them.

Go Bootcamp is suitable for children aged 6 and over. The day is adapted depending on age and ability.
Typically, new recruits should arrive at 14:00hrs, with the day finishing at around 0900 hrs the following day. We can be flexible with these times.
Yes, they will get wet if they choose to. Nobody is forced to do anything they don’t want to do but some of the activities include water and getting wet and dirty. As such, children will need to bring a full change of clothes and a towel. Separate changing areas are provided. Please note, this will be overseen by the school / group staff / guardians, not the Go Outside staff.

All the staff at Go Outside are first aiders and first aid kits are located around the site. Any additional medication that students need should be bought by staff i.e. asthma medication, epi pens etc.
Yes, the site and all the activities are subject to regular risk assessments by our qualified staff; NEBOSH, IOSH. It will be provided as part of the joining instructions.
All the activities are led by instructors. Most have a uniformed services background ie military, fire service, police etc. We also have youth workers and teachers. The lead instructor is a Royal Marine veteran – the activities are predominantly military themed. All staff are subject to routine DBS checks and receive autism awareness and safeguarding training.
Go Camp takes place in our 55 acre private forest. There are toilets and plenty of fresh, cold, water for washing. There is NO hot water available. The site is lit at night and is covered by monitored CCTV.
Yes, you can bring your own food and drink. Alternatively, we can provide a barbecue dinner which includes a burger, hot dog with a white bread roll (vegetarian equivalents available) and a cup drink
The min price for the sole use of the forest for the evening is £1000. To make this cost effective we would imagine you would need to be bringing a large group. Dates throughout the summer will be added when we will make up larger groups for you.
Arrival is 2pm so please eat your lunch before your arrival. A BBQ can be arranged for an evening meal. You are welcome to bring your own food and we can provide a cooking space and materials for cooking free of charge.
Yes there is electric for phone charging, lights etc.
Although we don’t have showers with hot water, we do have water and ablutions/washing facilities. We also have proper toilets.
The residential is suitable for children aged 7 and over. The day is adapted depending on age and ability.
Typically, new recruits should arrive at 9:30am, with the visit finishing at 9.00am on day two. Recruits can stay for another full days activities on day two, finishing at around 3pm. We can be flexible with these times.
In the morning, new recruits will be given some military style survival skills including shelter and fire building and cooking on an open fire. Once they have observed the input, they are spilt into Company’s (Alpha, Bravo etc) and be given a mission to put the skills they have learnt into practice.
After lunch, it’s an afternoon of high energy physical challenges. The recruits are taken through a military style warm up, after which the different companies are sent out on a range of physical challenges which include tunnel escapes, assault course, speed march, observation exercise, and or giant sized floor is lava and slip and slide.
Yes. Lunch on day one is a packed lunch that the children bring with them. Following this, all food is then provided by Go Outside
After lunch, it’s an afternoon of high energy, physical challenges. The children are taken through a military style warm up, before they are sent out on a range of physical challenges which include tunnel escapes, assault course, speed march, observation exercise, obstacle course and slip and slide.
The children are provided with a a barbecue tea before a movie in our open air cinema. The day ends with ghost stories around the fire.
Yes, a hot cooked breakfast of sausage and bacon is provided (vegetarian option available).
Children sleep on cot style bunk beds and adults sleep on military cot beds. We can provide a military sleeping bag for anyone wanting one.
The children sleep in a camouflaged barracks which have separate areas for boys and girls. The staff sleep in a separate camouflaged, weatherproof gazebo which is directly adjacent to where the children sleep. There are separate sleeping quarters for male and female staff. The staff sleeping quarters have power and lighting.
The site is monitored by CCTV. A GO Outside member of staff will be on-site throughout the night, immediately available via the hand held radio.
The site is lit 24 hours.
There are NOT any hot showers. The theme of the residential is battle field survival and missions. We have facilities for a stand up wash and teeth brushing.
